Include a clear attribution to African Arguments with a link to the original (“This article was originally published on African Arguments ”). We are happy to receive both (though we won’t be able to read drafts longer than 1,500 words). Each approach has its pros and cons, but ultimately it’s up to you.

We endeavor for our blog articles to flow well, have clarity of ideas and thought, and remain free of errors and typos. If your pitch is accepted, we will work with you to refine your article to prepare it for publication, and you will be able to review the final product before it is posted. Once we have received it, we will carefully review your submission for grammatical errors and publish it if it meets the standards we are looking for in the publication. Our response time varies, but we’re usually pretty quick.

Please do not be offended if we take some time to respond to your pitch. If you have not heard back from us within 10 days, you can assume your pitch has been unsuccessful. However, do not be deterred – we will still assess any future ideas you might have on their own merits if you wish to pitch again. Through reporting and analysis of social and political issues, we seek to educate citizens to challenge power and encourage democratic debate across the world.

How does it compare to what other countries are doing? What are the risks that policymakers are overlooking? Tell the readers something new and thought-provoking. Politics, Culture, Reflections, Ideas, Op-Eds, Data Stories or Long Reads and tell us where your story fits.

Please note that we do not publish op-eds resembling those published by newspapers or single-book reviews. Our website is a worldwide platform that shares various details on multiple topics. We are a successful team of contributors who shares knowledgeable posts on all types of content. We write original articles which is the key to our success.
